Find Out Before You File

A search tells you whether the name you want is genuinely open before you spend anything on an application. We check the UK register for identical and similar marks across your classes, and report what we find in language you can act on.

The wider searches also cover company names at Companies House, domain use and unregistered trading names — the kinds of earlier rights that do not appear on the register but can still be used against you.

A Report You Can Actually Use

Search results are only useful if you understand them. Every report we produce rates each conflicting mark by how much of a problem it really is, rather than handing you a raw list and leaving you to work it out.

Where we find a genuine obstacle, we set out the options: narrow the specification, file in a different class, negotiate with the earlier owner, or pick a different name. The fee for your search is credited against a registration package if you go on to file with us.

Why Businesses Choose Us

Trademark work is detail work. The class you file in, the wording of your specification and the evidence you hold all decide whether a mark survives a challenge. These are the four commitments we hold ourselves to on every file.

Ensure Trademark Availability
  • UK Register Checked
  • Companies House Included
  • Plain-English Report
  • Risk Rated Mark By Mark

What We Search

Our Comprehensive Trademark Search covers the UK trademark register maintained by the Intellectual Property Office — identical marks first, then marks close enough to be confused with yours in the classes you have chosen. Knowing what is already there is what keeps an application from being refused months later.

Wider packages add Companies House, domain registrations, unregistered trading names, and then the EUIPO and WIPO registers if you sell or intend to sell outside the United Kingdom.

Check First, File Second

Most refused applications were avoidable. A search costs a fraction of a wasted filing fee and a rebrand.
